Robin sent us this photo from her father and husband's three-day trip aboard the Shelly II. They were out August 10-13 and pulled-in an amazing load of fish! See a full fishing report below in Robin's entry.

( 2.9 / 9 )We've recently heard about some discrepancies and confusion over requirements for catching dolphin and wahoo. If you are fishing for these species, you are now required to hold a permit for Highly Migratory Species (HMS Angling Permit). The NMFS lists only Atlantic tunas, sharks, swordfish and billfish as the species this permit allows for, however we have heard that this permit is also needed for dolphin and wahoo landings. In particular, if you intend to fish in the upcoming Wahoo Rodeo, please be sure you have the necessary permit to avoid any trouble/fines/handcuffs, etc. You can apply for the permit online at http://hmspermits.noaa.gov/InitialOrRenew.asp.

Members of the Sunset staff were recently certified/re-certified to perform CPR. We were also trained on an Automated External Defibrillator. It is important for captains and customers to be aware that this machine is on-site, in the marina office. If you should witness an emergency here, please call 911 and tell a staff member to get the AED.
Sidenote: If you are a captain who is in need of CPR certification, or yours is about to expire, we know a company that will come here to train & certify you. Feel free to contact Health Quest,Inc. at 410.988.9441. You might recall seeing their booth at the 2007 Ocean City Tuna Tournament. They will also be exhibiting at Sunset during the White Marlin Open. If you are interested in an AED for your vessel, they can also set you up with the necessary training and equipment. www.healthquesttraining.com
