2008 Offshore Powerboat Races - May 31st - June 1st

     Sunset Marina is hosting the very first race of the 2008 OPA Offshore Powerboat Racing season. Not only is the June 1, 2008 race the kick-off of the entire season, but the Ocean City race is the first in "The Miss Geico Triple Crown" series-a three race competition based on the race here in Ocean City, followed by races in Patchogue, NY and Point Pleasant, NJ. As the first of this high stakes series, we expect stellar turnout of both participants and spectators in Ocean City.
     Dry and wet pits are located here at Sunset Marina. Race Boats will be on display starting on Friday, May 30, 2008. Crane operations at Sunset and race boat testing will commence on Saturday, May 31, 2008. Sunset Marina invites the public to come and witness these amazing vessels, some capable of speeds in excess of 180 mph. Two races will take place on Sunday, June 1, 2008, beginning around 12:30 p.m., along the beach between 4th and 40th streets in Ocean City. Don't miss the first race in the triple crown series. Make a weekend of it and see the OPA race boats in the pits and in action along the beach.
