Thank you to all the boats that participated in the 3rd Annual Wahoo Rodeo and Flounder Round-Up. Each year this tournament grows little by little and we hope it continues in the future. This tournament is truly a fun tournament for inshore and offshore boats. Congratulations to our winners.
The flounder bite was hot this year; bringing home 1st and 3rd place was the "Martini Time" with anglers Ben Pollmeier, weighing a 6.6 lb. flounder on the last fishing day, and Chuck Wenzel, weighing a 3.4 lb. flounder. Team Martini Time took home $1,160. With the 2nd place flounder was the "Capt. Fat Cat" weighing in a 3.6 lb. flounder, also on the last day of fishing, taking home $440.
On the Wahoo side of the tournament things were a little slow. However, on the last day of fishing we finally saw some action from the last boat to come to the docks. The "Four Play" out of Indian River, DE came in with the only two Wahoo to be weighed for the tournament, the largest weighing 50 lbs. This tournament winning fish was good for $1,500.
We would also like to extend our thanks to Barrett Gibson, the artist that designed the logo for this year's tournament and donated 3 paintings to the winning teams.
