Welcome to the Wahoo Rodeo and Flounder Round-up -- truly a tournament for everyone. Whether you are a bay fisherman or an offshore angler, this competition provides the chance for prizes in several categories with added entry levels available in each.
Tournament dates are September 5-7, 2008. You may choose 2 of the 3 fishing days. The awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, September 7 at the Ocean City Marlin Club. Registration for the Wahoo Rodeo is $500 per boat (4 anglers). The Flounder Round-up registration fee is $200 per boat (4 anglers). Two additional anglers will be permitted in either case ($50 each additional angler). Please see the full list of rules and regulations below for other important details.

Rules and Regulations
Once officially registered, all entry fees are nonrefundable. The deadline for registration is September 4 by 8:00 p.m.
Captain’s Meeting: Thursday, September 4, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. At least one representative from each boat MUST attend.
Captains and mates may be anglers as long as there are no more than 6 anglers per day.

Fishing Hours:
Wahoo & Tuna:
Lines-in: 8:00 a.m.
Lines-out: 3:30 p.m.
Flounder:
Lines-in: 6:30 a.m.
Lines-out: 3:30 p.m.
Lay Days: Boats must declare a lay day with the proper lay day form by 10:00 a.m. on the morning of the lay day. Forms must be turned into the Sunset Marina office in person -- NO EXCEPTIONS.
Fishing by any one boat on any day or partial day constitutes a tournament. If totally cancelled by an ACT OF GOD or natural disaster, available purse monies will be added to the 2008 Wahoo Rodeo and Flounder Round-up tournament. There will be NO REFUNDS.
A boat may be replaced after registration if due to breakdown or loss of seaworthiness, but is subject to approval by the Tournament Committee.
Boundary Limit (Wahoo &Tuna): 100 nautical miles from Ocean City sea buoy. Boats may leave from either the Ocean City Inlet or the Indian River Inlet
Weighing-in: Scales will be open 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Fri.-Sat. and 4:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Sun.
In the event of identical fish weights, prize monies will be split between boats with identical top weights. Identical top weighing fish will split the total of the prize monies in the category(s) they would otherwise occupy.
Attempted weight alteration of fish will automatically disqualify the boat from the tournament. The tournament committee reserves the right to inspect any fish suspected of weight altering efforts.
Boats are allowed one weigh-in opportunity per day.
All wahoo and tuna must weigh at least 30 lbs. The min. weight for Dolphin is 20 lbs. Fish weights will be rounded to the nearest pound. Flounder will be rounded to the nearest quarter pound.
Fish must be weighed in from the boat in which they were caught and must come in under their own power.
Bait, Tackle & Fishing Techniques:
All IGFA tackle rules apply unless stated otherwise.
Anyone on the boat may set the hook and immediately pass the rod. The angler must remain engaged, without assistance, after receiving the rod.
Live bait, chunking and wire line are permitted.
No greensticks, harpoons or dart gaffs allowed.
There is no limit on the number of lines or teasers.
All teams are subject to a vessel inspection without notice.
All fish must be fit for human consumption and pass an inspection performed by a Marine Biologist at the weigh station.
IGFA rules apply regarding mutilated fish.
All catches must be iced and maintained properly.
All tournament participants consent and authorize the Tournament Committee, sponsors and their advertising agencies to use and reproduce names, voices and/or photographs, whether taken or recorded and circulate the same for any and all purposes of publicity and advertising of all kinds and descriptions in any and all media formats.
Any tournament sponsor or their employees entering the tournament in compliance with the tournament rules is eligible for any and all prizes.
All boats entered into the tournament must adhere to all Federal and State Regulations, including the possession of all licenses and permits. Infractions of these regulations will result in disqualification of weighed fish and/or disqualification from the tournament.
All protests must be made in writing and presented at Tournament Headquarters by 7:00 p.m. on the day of the allegation. Protests must be accompanied by a $250 deposit which will be refunded if the protest is upheld. Otherwise, the deposit will be forfeited.
Decisions of the Tournament Committee as to winners shall be final.
The Wahoo Rodeo and Flounder Round-Up Tournament and its sponsors are not responsible for the conduct, personal injury, damages or negligence on the part of any participant.
Rules and regulations are not final or adopted until conclusion of captainŐs meeting. Changes and alterations of rules may be made at this time.
Fish & Awards: Eligible species are Wahoo (Acanthocybium solandri), Yellowfin (Thunnus Albacores), Bluefin (Thunnus Thynnus), Big Eye (Thunnus Obesus) and Dolphin (Mahi-Mahi) (Coryphaena hippurus).
Polygraph tests may be administered to the top money winners (captain, mate and angler) and others as deemed necessary by tournament officials.
The Top Lady Angler prize is for the largest fish (Wahoo & Flounder ONLY) caught by a Lady 16 years and older. The lady angler must catch the fish and accompany it to the scales.
The Top Junior Angler prize is for the largest fish (Wahoo & Flounder ONLY) caught by a Youth 15 years and younger. The junior angler must catch the fish and accompany it to the scales.
A prize will be awarded to the heaviest dolphin caught. The minimum weight for dolphin is 20 pounds.
Largest single fish:
The winner will be selected based upon the weight of the individual fish weighed.

At least 60% of all entry fees collected will be divided into the 9 winning categories.
